The results of the Russian National Theatre Award Golden Mask for the season of 2020-2021 have been announced. The Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre is among the winners.
So, the idol of the Krasnoyarsk public, Honoured Artist of the Republic of Buryatia Mikhail Pirogov bore away the Golden Mask for the role of Nightingale Budimirovich in the first Russian slapstick operetta Bogatyrs by Alexander Borodin.
It was a hard-earned victory: in total, the list of the award nominees included 81 performances, 67 theatres from 17 cities of Russia - this is a record number of contestants. Our congratulations to the laureate Mikhail Pirogov and all the nominees!
It’s worth reminding that two shows of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre were nominated in 9 categories: the opera Bogatyrs by Alexander Borodin (as Best Opera Performance) and the choreographic mystery show Leningrad Symphony (Lamento) by Alexei Syumak, Dmitri Shostakovich, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (as Best Ballet Performance).
