Between 16 and 30 October, 2024, the Krasnoyarsk Arts Festival Hvorostovsky will be held; it’ll be dedicated to the legendary opera singer Dmitri Aleksandrovich Hvorostovsky.
The host venues will traditionally be the Krasnoyarsk Regional Philharmonic Hall and the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, as well as the Surikov Krasnoyarsk State Art Museum.
The grand opening gala will take place on October 16 - the birthday of the famous baritone singer. Russian bass singer, Dmitri Hvorostovsky's close friend and stage partner Ildar Abdrazakov will perform on the stage of the Krasnoyarsk Philharmonic Great Hall accompanied by the Bardin Krasnoyarsk Philharmonic Russian Orchestra conducted by Alexei Morgunov. The audience will hear famous romance songs and Russian folk songs, which Dmitri Alexandrovich performed at the beginning of his career along with the orchestra conducted by Anatoly Bardin.
The special event of the 2024 Festival will be the exhibition Theatre. Pictorial Art. Hvorostovsky in the Surikov Krasnoyarsk State Art Museum (20 Parizhskoy Kommuny Street). From October 16 to December 15, visitors of the Museum will have the opportunity to see the works of artists of the 19th and 20th centuries. These paintings are related to the music works, the performing of which helped Dmitri Hvorostovsky gain worldwide recognition. The exhibition will feature paintings from the collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, the Pushkin Russian Museum, and the Perm State Art Gallery.
On October 19, the highlight of the concert programme will be the invited guests: Vittorio Grigolo, a tenor singer from Italy, and the winner of the International Tchaikovsky Competition Zinaida Tsarenko, a mezzo-soprano from Russia. The Krasnoyarsk Academic Symphony Orchestra conducted by its Artistic Director and Chief Conductor Vladimir Lande will accompany them.
The programme will continue on October 21: the performance of Olga Peretyatko (soprano voice, Russia) and Vasily Ladiuk (baritone voice, Russia) will be accompanied by the Krasnoyarsk Academic Symphony Orchestra conducted by Mikhail Tatarnikov.
On October 24, the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia will present a concert performance of the opera La Traviata to Krasnoyarsk audience for the first time; and on October 25, the Bolshoi Theatre Symphony Orchestra will perform an instrumental programme conducted by Pavel Klinichev.
The gala concert will be held on October 30 at the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre – the homestage of Dmitri Alexandrovich. Its programme includes performances by young soloists of the Youth Opera Programme of the Bolshoi Theatre and the Mariinsky Theatre who are already popular among opera fans, as well as leading soloists of the opera company of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre.

I’d like to note that in addition to the exciting concert programme this year, the Festival again has an extensive educational programme: master classes by stars of the world opera stage – the participants of the Festival – will be held within it.” said Arkady Zinov, Minister of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk Region.
The Festival organizer is the Krasnoyarsk Regional Philharmonic Society with the support of the government of the Krasnoyarsk Region. The partners are the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre and the Surikov Krasnoyarsk State Art Museum.
