The Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre invites citizens to the Vivat, Rossini! show

On February 29, The Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre invites music amateurs to celebrate the birthday of the great composer by visiting the Vivat, Rossini! concert.  The guests of the theatre will find themselves at a real birthday party that’ll include delicacies, a fascinating show and surely brilliant Gioachino Rossini’s music.

In the life of Gioachino Rossini - a reformer of the opera and the author of many great music works - there was a moment when he almost completely refused to write music and enthusiastically devoted himself to his other favourite métier - cooking. He even released two cookbooks of his recipes.

“We invite the Krasnoyarsk restaurant Mama Roma as an event partner; its masters are going to cook dishes according to Rossini's recipes. The audience will have the opportunity to try them in an impromptu cafe located in the foyer; so it is certainly worth coming to the gala concert earlier to try several types of pasta the great composer used to cook. Before the show, a wind instruments ensemble consisting of our orchestra’s musicians will play in the foyer”, said the director of the Vivat, Rossini!  concert Daniil Dmitriev. The music and cooking shows will be presented during the concert: the chairman of the Russian-Italian National Cultural Society Sibita Ferdinando Bustelli will take the stage as a cook.

The theatre’s soloists Yekaterina Kochetova and Eugeny Baldanov will host the event. The programme of the concert will include works by Gioacchino Rossini - miniatures Duetto Buffo di Due Gatti, Canzonetta Spagnuola, Regatta Veneziana, vocal and instrumental fragments from the operas Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Il Turco in Italia, La Cenerentola, Ciro in Babilonia, and others. At the end of the concert, the theatre’s choir and all the participants of the concert will perform a spectacular choir piece of Il Barbiere di Siviglia.
