The Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre prepared musical gifts for Valentine's Day

The Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will give two wonderful gifts at once to all theatre art amateurs on Valentine's Day, February 14: two operas about love.

Giuseppe Verdi's opera Aida will be presented on the main stage of the theatre. This event will open the festival of Italian music Bel Canto in Siberia. The Italian conductor Jacopo Sipari di Pescasseroli who collaborated with many orchestras in Europe and Asia will conduct the opera. The cast is noteworthy, too. The soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre, People's Artist of Russia Irina Dolzhenko will perform  the part of Amneris Irina Igorevna has many a time appeared on the stage of the Krasnoyarsk Opera House in this role. The soloist of Helikon Opera, the laureate of international competitions Stanislav Shvets will take the stage in Krasnoyarsk for the first time as High Priest Ramfis.

This performance is also distinguished by the fact that some soloists of the Krasnoyarsk Theatre will debut in their new parts: the winner of international competitions Ksenia Khovanova as Aida and Honoured Artist of Buryatia Mikhail Pirogov as Radamès.

The same night, a pre-premiere show of Pyotr Pospelov’s opera Night at the Museum or the Testament of the Master will take place at the art space loft Quadrat as the part of the Art at the Quadrat project. This intriguing story takes place in a museum - for some reason, four of its employees stayed locked for the night. The opera’s creators are composer Pyotr Pospelov and author of the story and libretto Yekaterina Pospelova; they define the work as an opera for four singers and pianoforte based on Mozart's sonatas. The cast includes Zoya Rzheplyanskaya (as the tour guide), Daria Ryabinko (as the Keeper), Yaroslav Abaimov (guest artist, the principal singer of the Novaya Opera Theatre in Moscow will perform the part of the Museum Director), Eugeny Sevastianov (as security guard), Vera Izotova (as the cleaning lady).

Two pre-premiere shows of the Night at the Museum or the Testament of the Master opera will take place at the art space loft Quadrat (Red Army-Street 10, building 4) on February 14 at 7 p.m. and February 16 at 7 p.m.
