The Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre to host the International Parade of Tenors

Within the festival Stars Parade at the Opera. Slovtsov, the gala concert Parade of Tenors will take place at the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre on February 21 . The concert will feature vocalists from Mongolia, China, and Kazakhstan.

In a parade of high male voices, 11 tenors will take the Krasnoyarsk stage. Among them are seven soloists of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre: Davit Yesayan, Valentin Kolesnikov, Andrey Kolobov, Honoured Artist of Buryatia Mergen Sandanov, Kirill Pankevich, Eugeny Baldanov, as well as guest soloists of foreign theatres.

Tserenchunt Ulziyburen from the Mongolian Opera and Ballet Theatre in Ulaanbaatar is already known to the Krasnoyarsk audience: he performed the role of Lensky in Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s opera Eugene Onegin and took part in the concert Voice of Asia along with the Krasnoyarsk baritone singer Alexander Mikhaliov. But Chinese tenors Li Xiaolong and Luo Yang , as well as soloists of the Abai Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theatre Damir Saduakhasov and Nurgalym Amanbai will perform at the Krasnoyarsk Opera House for the first time.

The “Magnificent Ten” tenors will perform excerpts from the operas and operettas by Bizet, Rimsky-Korsakov, Tchaikovsky, Cilea, Donizetti, Puccini, Verdi, Mascagni, Lehár. Among these excerpts, there are such hits as the arias of Cavaradossi and Rodolfo from Puccini’s Tosca and La Bohème, Tonio’s cavatina and Nemorino’s romance song from Donizetti’s La Fille du Régiment and L'Elisir d'Amore, Lensky’s arias from Eugene Onegin by Tchaikovsky and the Song of the Indian Guest from Sadko by Rimsky-Korsakov.

The concert programme will also feature duets from operas; the tenors will perform them along with the soloists of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre: soprano singers Anna Avakyan, Violetta Grishko, Victoria Maslyukova, Honoured Artist of Russia Svetlana Ratslaf-Levchuk, mezzo-soprano Victoria Kangina, and baritones Alexander Mikhaliov, Sevastyan Martyniuk, and Roman Khobta.
