The Krasnoyarsk part of the lineup of the Birgitta Festival in Estonia is confirmed

In August 2020, artists of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre are going to bring two productions to Tallinn for the international Birgitta festival - Eugene Onegin by Tchaikovsky and Aida by Verdi.

The Aida cast includes not only the soloists of the Krasnoyarsk Opera House (Honoured Artist of Buryatia Mikhail Pirogov as Radamès, Daria Ryabinko as Amneris, Eugeny Sevastianov as the King of Egypt, Davit Yesayan as the messenger, Aliona Kiskina as the Priestess) but also guest artists. They are the star of the world opera scene, People's Artist of the RSFSR Sergei Leiferkus (as Amonasro), laureates of international competitions Elena Mikhailenko (as Aida) and Stanislav Shvets (as Ramfis) from the Helikon Opera Theatre.

The second festival performance in Estonia will be Eugene Onegin staged by the Estonian director Neeme Kuningas. Sevastian Martynyuk is to perform the title part; Honoured Artist of Russia Svetlana Ratslaf-Levchuk and Daria Ryabinko will take the stage as Tatyana and Olga; Olga Basova will sing the part of their mother, lady of the manor Larina. The part of the nanny Filippyevna will be performed by Larisa Plotnikova, aristocrat Gremin by Eugeny Sevastianov, funny monsieur Triquet by Boris Sabirov. Dmitri Ryabtsev will perform two roles - an officer and Zaretsky.

It’s worth mentioning that Aida directed by Andrejs Žagars will be performed at the Krasnoyarsk Opera House on February 14; its cast will be equally excellent. People's Artist of Russia Irina Dolzhenko (Bolshoi Theater) will perform Amneris. Ksenia Khovanova and Mikhail Pirogov will debut as Aida and Radamès, Stanislav Shvets will sing the part of Ramfis. Maxim Orlov will perform the King of Egypt. In recent memory, Maxim was a principal singer of the Krasnoyarsk theatre, now he works at the Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre. Boris Sabirov and Yekaterina Kochetova will come to the stage as the messenger and Priestess.
