On February 15, a concert of romances (Russian art songs) A Magic Moment I Remember will be held at the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre.

The concert's programme includes the most famous and favourite works of this genre including the title romance - A Magic Moment I Remember by Mikhail Glinka composed to verses by Alexander Pushkin. The audience will have the opportunity to hear The Nightingale by Alexander Alyabyev - probably the most popular romance among fans of the genre, as well as the romance song I Met You, My Love by an unknown composer (another theory says that the music was composed by Leonid Malashkin) based on Fyodor Tyutchev’s verses. The works by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Rubinstein, Mussorgsky, Prozorovsky, Fomin will be performed. And more modern authors won’t be omitted: Andrei Petrov, Samuel Pokrass, Isaac Schwartz (romance to Bulat Okudzhava’s poem Love and Parting from the film We Weren't Married in Church).

However, the programme consists not only of the Russian and Soviet composers’ works - the pearls of the European poetry will be as well performed, such as Elegy by Jules Massenet and I Love You by Edward Grieg.

“You’ll get be wrapped up not only in the bewitching sounds of romances but also in an intimate romantic atmosphere. You’ll find yourselves in an era when the romance was in the heyday of its glory”, says Daniil Dmitriev, production director of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. Daniil is going to host the concert: he’ll tell spectators about interesting facts, provide the audience with touching, beautiful love stories as well as juicy details about creating definite art songs.

Vocal miniatures will be performed by masters of the chamber genre: Vera Baranova, Eugeny Baldanov, Alena Babivskaya, Anatoly Berezin, Larisa Marzoeva, Alexander Mikhaliov, Anna Kiseliova, Natalia Sokolova, Anna Kharitonova, and other soloists of the theatre accompanied by the quartet Maestro (Elena Chepurnaya - piano, Irina Chepurnaya - violin, Natalia Chepurnaya - cello, Sergei Gavrilenko - cello).
