The month closing the 46th season: opera and ballet debuts

In June 2024, artists of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will present new performances in several productions.

All the more reason to visit Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s opera masterpiece The Queen of Spades on June 8 will be several significant debuts of the singers: Natalia Plotnikova as Countess, Rauf Timergazin as Count Tomsky. In the Pastorale, Rauf will also appear on stage for the first time as Zlatogor, and Zoya Rzheplyanskaya will make her debut as the beautiful shepherdess Prilepa.

In Alexander Tchaikovsky's opera Yermak on June 27, Edward Arutyunyan will perform for the first time the part of the merchant Maxim Stroganov, and Sergei Samusev - the part of Khan Kuchum. Let us remind you that the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will present the production Yermak on the stage of the Moscow Music Theatre Helikon-Opera during the summer tour within the federal project Big Tours.

Another important opera debut is planned in the ballet opera Carmen to the music of Georges Bizet: Honoured Artist of Buryatia Mergen Sandanov will perform the leading male role of Sergeant Jose on June 30. Ruslan Abolmasov will debut as Dankairo in the ballet on June 29, Arina Osipyuk as Mercedes, Denis Kazarin as Zuniga - both on June 30.

The night of June 5 will be especially important for the dancers Anna Salenkova and Bato Tushinov (the latter joined the Krasnoyarsk ballet company this season): in Sergei Prokofiev’s ballet Romeo and Juliet, Anna makes her debut as the Soul of Romeo, and Bato - as Tybalt.

The public's favourite ballet Juno and Avos to the music by Alexei Rybnikov also has a debutant: Ilya Khaprov will perform the parts of Count Rumyantsev and the Spanish Governor.
