The opera company’s debuts in November

In November 2019, artists of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will introduce their new works to the audience.

On November 3, the opera company soloist, laureate of international competitions Daria Frolova will debut as Tsarina Maria Nagaya, the wife of the cruel Ivan the Terrible, in the opera Yermak by Alexander Tchaikovsky. The opera is staged by the Artistic Director of the Natalya Sats Moscow State Academic Children’s Music Theatre Georgy Isaakian. The world premiere of this large-scale opera, where real historical characters appear on the stage, closed the 41st season of the theatre in May and opened the new one in September.

In the eccentric comic opera Les Mamelles de Tirésias by Francis Poulenc, Yekaterina Kochetova will for the first time come to the stage as the commissioner of the Zanzibar mine on November 4. Moreover, it’ll not be the stage of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, but the one of the art space loft Quadrat ( Armii Street 10, building 4). This recent impressive premiere is a part of the new theatre’s project Art at the Quadrat. This project starts on October 31 with the premiere of an ultramodern opera The Haze by Kirill Shirokov and Mark Buloshnikov.

Two soloists only joined the opera company of the Krasnoyarsk Opera House at the end of last season - tenor Vasily Korsar and bass Maxim Orlov. Vasily will play the part of Jason, the unfaithful lover of the protagonist of the opera Médée by Luigi Cherubini on November 7. Maxim will debut as the Count Guard head Ferrando in the opera Il Trovatore. This passionate masterpiece by Giuseppe Verdi will be performed on the stage of the theatre on November 13.
