The performance of the Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s opera Sadko will take place on October 12. The young trainee soloist of the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg Yekaterina Fedotova is going to participate in it.
Yekaterina is a recent graduate of the solo singing department of the Perm State Institute of Culture; she studied in the class of Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation, Professor Irina Kotelnikova. Yekaterina possesses quite a rare contralto voice. In Sadko, she’ll sing the part of a young man - the gusli-player Nezhata. She already performed Nezhata on the stage of the Mariinsky Theater in July 2019.
Yekaterina Fedotova’s repertoire includes the part of Dunyasha in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Tsar’s Bride she performed at the Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre), and the part of Olga Larina in the project of the Perm Institute of Culture - Eugene Onegin. In September 2017, the young singer did an international internship by the opera artist Olivia Gorra (Mexico). In 2019, she took part in the 9th International Opera Music Festival The Breath of Lake Baikal.
In May 2019, Yekaterina Fedotova was the only Russian participant in Les Azuriales, that is the international youth program in the French city of Nice. There she interned by the outstanding European tenor Dennis O'Neill and performed the part of Marta in the production of the Iolanta opera by Tchaikovsky.
Yekaterina is a laureate of numerous international and Russian competitions: The 1st international competition festival Music of Friendship organized by the Irina Arkhipova Fund; the 2nd International Vocal Competition ACADEMIA; Olivia Gorra’s International Singing Competition in Mexico; the 47th Russian Contest of musical higher education institutions’ vocalists-graduates in 2019 in St. Petersburg, and others.
