The plans for the 46th theatrical season discussed at the companies meeting

At the annual traditional meeting of the team of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, the premiere performances and major events of the upcoming 46th season were presented.

The new season promises to be eventful. Managing Director of the Theatre Svetlana Guziy spoke about the premieres and the most remarkable events. The first premiere of the season – a concert performance of Modest Mussorgsky’s opera Boris Godunov – will take place in November 2023. Nearly in every month of 2024, the Theatre will introduce new productions. They are the operas Orpheus and Eurydice by Christoph Willibald Gluck (in February), Manon by Jules Massenet (April), the ballet Corsair to the music of Adolphe Adam (May), and two contemporary ballet productions within the project The Snow Maiden: Myth and Reality; they will be included in the programme of the international contemporary dance festival DanceInversion (in April and May 2024).

What other important events will take place in the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre in the season 2023-2024? In the late September - early October, the Classical Ballet Theatre headed by N. Kasatkina and V. Vasiliov will tour in Krasnoyarsk (ballets The Lady of the Camellias by Verdi, Don Quixote by Minkus, The Creation of the World by Petrov). In October, the Krasnoyarsk audience will see one of the productions of the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Music Theatre: Mozart's opera Don Giovanni and a gala concert of soloists within the Hvorostovsky Arts Festival. In December, the Theatre traditionally celebrates its 45th anniversary with its landmark - Alexander Borodin’s opera Prince Igor.

At the end of the season, our artists will tour in Moscow and take the stage of the Moscow Music Theatre Helikon-Opera to perform the Alexander Tchaikovsky's opera Yermak and Jacques Offenbach's opera bouffe Barbe-Bleu there.

At the companies meeting, 44 Theatre’s employees were awarded certificates of honour and gifts for their professionalism and creative achievements.

At the end of the event, Managing Director Svetlana Guziy introduced new Music Director and Chief Conductor Dmitri Yurovsky to the team, as well as two new maestros Mikhail Leontyev and Eldar Nagiyev.
