The artists of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre won the Spectators’ Recognition theatre award: the ballet company’s principal dancer, laureate of international competitions Olesya Aldonina and the opera company’s soloist, Honoured Artist of Buryatia Mikhail Pirogov.

Krasnoyarsk citizens voted for their favourite artists of the theatres of the city between October 1 and November 1. On December 9, the Minister of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk Region Arkady Zinov announced the winners and gave out the awards to them at the closing ceremony of the Theatre Year.

Unfortunately, Olesya couldn’t personally attend the ceremony because she wasn’t in the city at the time.

“It is unexpected and very pleasant to hear such news on the road”, commented the ballet artist.

Shortly, Mikhail Pirogov will take the stage as Vladimir in the Alexander Borodin’s opera Prince Igor on the theatre’s birthday December 20. Olesya Aldonina will perform Polina in Tikhon Khrennikov’s ballet A Hussar Ballad on December 15.
