On the eve of International Women's Day, Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Region Mikhail Kotyukov, according to tradition, presented state and regional awards to successful residents of the Region. Chief Executive of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre Svetlana Guziy was also awarded for her achievements in the professional field.
The head of the Region handed a certificate of honour “For High Professionalism and Personal Contribution to the Development of Culture and Art” over to Svetlana Vladimirovna. Mikhail Kotyukov congratulated all the awardees on the first spring holiday, wished them good health, good cheer, and cherishing from the loved ones:
“Each of you does very important work and doesn’t think about reward, you just work as is customary here in Siberia - from morning until night, sometimes seven days a week. And those state awards and insignia that were presented today are a tribute to you personally and your teams. Our great compatriot Viktor Petrovich Astafiev was right to write: “A woman is the strongest person in the world. For thousands of years, she has been giving life and healing people with her kindness.” Many thanks to you for your kindness, for your warmth, for your love. Without you, this world would have no meaning.”
Svetlana Guziy has been heading one of the main cultural venues of the Region for 15 years. Over these years, the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre has changed a lot: more than a hundred premieres took place; now, the Theatre presents about 330 productions of large and small forms per season to two hundred thousand people of various ages. Many federal and international tours were undertaken; the Theatre’s artists frequently come to the main stage of the country - the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia. Over 15 years, artists and productions of the Krasnoyarsk Theatre have received five Golden Masks and 16 nominations for this prestigious award.
