Theatrical Spring 2023: the tickets are on sale

The regional festival Theatrical Spring will be held between March 18 and April 3, 2023. The audience will see 26 productions staged by theatres from all over the Krasnoyarsk Region, as well as guests from St. Petersburg. Three of them will be performed on the stage of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre.

The festival programme includes the opera Lakme by Leo Delibes, the performance will be held on March 26. Being rarely staged in Russia, this production directed by Sergei Novikov was a highlight of the previous season of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. Besides, Lakme was successfully presented in Moscow during a large-scale tour at the Bolshoi Theatre in the summer of 2022.

Last year, the Moscow audience also saw Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's opera Don Giovanni that premiered as part of the Dmitri Hvorostovsky festival. Krasnoyarsk residents will see this production on the stage of the Hvorostovsky Opera House on April 1 and 2. It’ll be performed within the festival Theatrical Spring, but out of competition, as a guest show.

The Minusinsk Drama Theatre will present its production On Christmas Night ... at the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre a part of the programme of the Theatrical Spring - 2023.  This deeply poignant love story was created by the young Russian playwright Margarita Kadatskaya who based it on the eponymous short story by Anton Chekhov.
