On December 4, the Grand Academic Concert Hall of the Hvorostovsky Siberian State Institute of Arts hosts a concert Images of the Romantic Era featuring the soloist of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, Honoured Artist of Russia Vera Baranova.
Italian saxophonist Luis Lanzarini, soloists, choir and orchestra of the Krasnoyarsk State Institute of the Arts, and choral soloists’ ensemble Tebe Poyem will take part in the event. The concert program includes the works of the Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg and the French author Gabriel Fauré.
Vera Baranova wanted very much to perform a solo in Requiem by Fauré, and the soprano voice in this work is one of the most beautiful parts - Pie Jesus. This is a landmark performance: Vera Pavlovna will sing along with students, for whom she is not just a professor at the solo singing and opera training department, but also a guide, a model for serving Music and being loyal to the profession and her Alma Mater that celebrates the 40th anniversary this year. Luis Lanzarini is going to dedicate the performance of Requiem to Dmitri Hvorostovsky: “Last year, I was in Krasnoyarsk preparing my solo performance when I learned that this great singer died. Therefore, while being here now, I would like to pay tribute to this musician by means of performing one of the brightest samples of the requiem mass genre.”
The first suite of Edvard Grieg to the drama Peer Gynt by Henrik Ibsen and the works of Gabriel Fauré - beautiful Pavane, amazing in its melodic beauty choir Cantique de Jean Racine and Requiem will be performed. An international competition laureate Ilona Tutushkina is going to perform the organ piece. Honoured Artist of Russia, Professor of the solo singing and opera training department Vera Baranova and Pavel Antsiferov will sing as soloists.
