The principal singer of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre Violetta Grishko will sing in the show based on the iconic play by Norwegian Henrik Ibsen Peer Gynt to the music by Edvard Grieg. The premiere will be held in the Great Hall of the Krasnoyarsk Philharmonic Society on February 18.
In this musical drama, Violetta will perform the part of Solveig - a symbol of eternal female fidelity: the girl waited for her beloved Peer all her life - until she got old. Solveig's Song from Grieg's suite Peer Gynt became one of the world's music hits.
The show is created by the Krasnoyarsk Academic Symphony Orchestra (conducted by Mikhail Mosenkov) and the Open Hearts studio, where children with limited health capacities study. The production is directed by Vasily Selyukov. It features students of the Hvorostovsky Siberian State Institute of Arts, soloists of the choreographic ensemble Raduga and the dance project PARALIS.
As for the stage of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, Violetta Grishko will take it at the gala concert Tenor Parade on February 23: she’s going to perform fragments from the operas La Traviata by Verdi. La Boheme by Puccini On March 27, she’ll sing the part of Berta in Il Barbiere di Siviglia by Rossini.
