Vladimir Alexandrovich, principal singer of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre and laureate of international competitions, will present his solo project As If I Were With Them Again… — a concert dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The event will take place on 8 May at the Grand Hall Siberia.
The programme will feature songs about war composed in different eras, all united by a common theme — remembering the heroism of Russian soldiers. The set list includes such songs as From the Heroes of Past Times, On the Nameless Height, Smuglyanka, Dark Night, Cranes, An Accidental Waltz, Victory Day, and more. The concert will be hosted by Irina Kupchenko, People's Artist of Russia and an actress of the Vakhtangov Theatre. She has previously taken part in similar Vladimir Alexandrovich’s concerts alongside her late husband, People's Artist of Russia Vasily Lanovoy, at various venues across the country
Audiences will also be able to hear Vladimir Alexandrovich on his home stage in early May, performing in the world premiere of Alexander Tchaikovsky’s opera To Love in Wartime (in the role of Popiyvoda) based on works by war-time writer Viktor Astafyev. On 21 May, he will also appear as the merchant Mokiy Parmyonich Knurov in Daniil Frenkel’s opera Without a Dowry.
