The Krasnoyarsk state opera and ballet theatre presents the author's ballet "Snow Maiden" on Pyotr Tchaikovsky's music. Author of the libretto and producing choreographer of the performance honored artist of Russia Mark Peretokin. Premier displays will take place on June 1, 2 and 3.
The ballet tells story about the daughter of Vesna and Father Frost – the Snow Maiden who fell in love and thawed from burning beams of Yarila Solntse. This one of the most inspired compositions of the composer. Music is filled with pleasure, heat and fun, spring mood. Tchaikovsky managed incredibly thin to transfer the Russian national color.
The score of the ballet included music to A.N. Ostrovsky's play "Snow Maiden", fragments of the First and Fourth symphonies of Tchaikovsky, the piano cycle "Seasons" and "Melancholic serenade".
"The plot of the ballet will be most approached to Ostrovsky's work. In it there are both celebrations, and maslenitsa. And the chorus will take part in the final of the performance, – Mark Peretokin tells. – The ballet "Snow Maiden" is in repertoire only of three Moscow theatres – Musical theatre named after Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko (directed by Vladimir Burmeyster), the Kremlin Palace of Congresses (directed by Andrey Petrov) and Children's musical theatre named after N. I. Sats (directed by Ivan Fadeyev). Now this performance will appear and in repertoire of our theatre".
Scenery and suits to the ballet "Snow Maiden" will be executed according to sketches of the famous Russian artist, the academician of RAH Dmitry Cherbadzhi. The audience of the Krasnoyarsk opera is familiar with his bright, memorable scenery and suits to the ballets "Romeo and Juliette" of S. Prokofiev, "Bayadere" of L. Minkus, "The Nutcracker, or the Tale of firm nut" and "The sleeping beauty" of P. Tchaikovsky.
