From October 16 to November 5, 2025, the Krasnoyarsk Arts Festival Hvorostovsky will honour the legendary opera singer Dmitri Aleksandrovich Hvorostovsky. The festival, established in Krasnoyarsk with the support of the world-renowned baritone’s family, has become a cultural landmark for the region.
Eight concerts and productions will be staged in the regional capital, featuring artists from Russia, Belarus, Italy, France, Uruguay, Mexico, and South Korea. Among the distinguished guests are conductor Valery Gergiev and opera stars Ildar Abdrazakov, Ambrogio Maestri, Erwin Schrott, Ramón Vargas, Vasily Laduk, Sumi Jo, and many others.
Residents and visitors will also be presented the thematic exhibition project Siberian Legend. Hvorostovsky. In addition, vocal students of the Hvorostovsky Siberian State Institute of Arts will take part in an advanced educational programme.
This year, for the first time, the festival will extend beyond the regional capital with a special concert programme reaching several towns across the Krasnoyarsk Region.
In total, more than 30 concerts, theatrical performances, exhibitions, educational events are planned throughout the festival.
“Just as Dmitri Hvorostovsky did during his lifetime, the festival bearing his name continues to bring the finest examples of world opera to the people of Krasnoyarsk, making a significant contribution to the Region’s cultural development. A major innovation this year is that the festival goes beyond the city of Krasnoyarsk for the first time: concerts and masterclasses will also be held in Norilsk, Achinsk, Kansk, Zelenogorsk, and Minusinsk,” said Arkady Zinov, Minister of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk Region.
The main venues and organizers of the 2025 festival include the Krasnoyarsk Regional Philharmonic Hall, Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre, Surikov Krasnoyarsk State Art Museum, and Hvorostovsky Siberian State Institute of Arts.
The Hvorostovsky Arts Festival is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Krasnoyarsk Region. The Russian Musical Society is the partner of its educational programme.
