On October 17, following Dmitri Hvorostovsky's birthday, Yudin Museum-Estate will host an art lounge to celebrate one of the key Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre premieres in its 42nd season - Hvorostovsky. Homecoming. The opening nights are on October 18 and November 1.
The author of the libretto, a writer and poet Dmitri Makarov as well as the theatre soloists Sevastian Martyniuk and Pavel Antsiferov (who had the honour to perform on the same stage along with Dmitri Alexandrovich during his last concert in Krasnoyarsk on June 2, 2017) are going to take part in the event.
The Hvorostovsky. Homecoming show, set to the music of Alexei Syumak, depicts the professional and personal evolution of the great singer and proves to be heartfelt and poignant. However, Dmitri Makarov never had the pleasure of meeting Hvorostovsky in person. How did he work on the libretto, how did he collect information, what kind of ideas and images went through his mind? Dmitri will let the devoted fans of Hvorostovsky's work visiting the art lounge in on those secrets. Sevastian Martynyuk and Pavel Antsiferov will share their memories of meeting the vocal music master and will perform some of his songs.
A significant part of the meeting will be a tour of the exhibition Voice That Conquered the World dedicated to Dmitri Hvorostovsky. The exhibition designer Yana Starodubtseva will guide the tour. The exhibition is permanently open in the Museum-Estate; it features about 300 exhibits relating to the life and work of the singer, many of which are rarities. These include portraits, theatrical costumes, personal belongings, diplomas and awards, performance posters, as well as the items which tell the story of the young Dima's first steps in music: childhood and family photos of the singer, his music school progress book with grades, and many other items.
The art lounge opens at 3 p.m. Sign up by calling 221-14-44.
