The Dmitri Hvorostovsky tribute performance depicts the most important episodes of the singer's life. The show outlines the symbolic circle of life events that form the vast universe - the name of its is Hvorostovsky.
A spectator is not an observer of the show but a protagonist of it. The audience will be located right in the centre of the turning circle on the stage. With each its new turn, the theatre guests take part in the singer’s biographical events and feel spiritual involvement in them.
The turn: And there’s Krasnoyarsk in autumn 1983 on the stage - Dmitri's debut performance.
Another turn: Winter. The class of Yekaterina Konstantinovna Iofel, students of Margarita Nikolaevna Rioli-Slovtsova, wife of the outstanding Russian tenor Pyotr Ivanovich Slovtsov. Dmitri Hvorostovsky was her student for several years finding out the secrets of opera vocals. The singer carried the advice and instructions of his teacher throughout his lifetime.
The next turns will show the Dmitri’s first big international success to the audience: he having won the international vocal competition held by the British television company BBC in the capital of Wales - Cardiff, his performance along with Florence Illi in the Don Giovanni opera in Geneva, his work on the song cycle to Alexander Blok’s verses along with composer Georgy Sviridov. Sviridov says: “Sing more often at home, return home. To Russia, to your home town. They do not just love you here, they need you.”
Dmitri Hvorostovsky is unique and only, he’s a bright star of the world opera scene. Each star has its own orbit, but sometimes it still goes out of its path. It goes out of its orbit to return home. The asteroid 7995 was discovered by astronomer Lyudmila Karachkina at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory on August 4, 1983; it was named after Dmitri Hvorostovsky.
