Aida as a part of the Stars Parade at the Opera Festival

On June 16, the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will present the opera Aida by Giuseppe Verdi within the international festival Stars Parade at the Opera; guest soloists and conductor are invited to take part in it.

The soloist of the Moscow music theatre Helikon-Opera, laureate of international competitions Elena Mikhailenko will sing the title role on the Krasnoyarsk stage. Elena was born in Magnitogorsk (the Chelyabinsk Region). She graduated  from the Vocal Department of the Gnesins Russian Academy of Music with honours. In 2008, Elena performed the part of Aida in a joint production of the Helikon-Opera and Opera de Massy (France).

The artist's repertoire includes more than 30 parts шт the most popular operas. Besides Aida, they are Katerina Izmailova (Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District by Shostakovich), Yaroslavna (Prince Igor by Borodin), Stefania (Siberia by Giordano), Isabella (Das Liebesverbot by Wagner), Amelia (Un Ballo in Maschera by Verdi), Volkhova (Sadko by Rimsky-Korsakov), Liza / Prilepa (The Queen of Spades by Tchaikovsky), and others.

In 2014, Elena already performed on the Krasnoyarsk stage: she sang the part of Liza in Tchaikovsky's opera The Queen of Spades. Stanislav Shvets also paid already a visit to Krasnoyarsk in 2020 to perform the part of Ramfis in Aida. The same part he is to sing on June 16, 2021. Stanislav performed the role of the Egyptian priest on many stages in the USA and Europe, including the legendary Albert Hall in London. The Helikon-Opera theatre travelled all over Europe with the production of Aida.

“The Krasnoyarsk Opera House is closely linked for me, first of all, with the name of Dmitri Alexandrovich Hvorostovsky. I used to perform along with him a lot on various opera stages and at concerts. He invited me to sing at his Hvorostovsky and Friends concerts. Many of my colleagues from the Helikon-Opera have already performed on the Krasnoyarsk stage; all of them note the high level of this theatre and the favourable attitude of all employees to the guest singers - and this is very important,” commented Stanislav Shvets.

The artist has been singing in the Helikon-Opera theatre for over 20 years performing there the best bass parts in operas by Russian and foreign composers: Boris Godunov and Pimen in Mussorgsky's opera Boris Godunov, Gremin in Eugene Onegin by Tchaikovsky, King of Clubs in The Love for Three Oranges by Prokofiev, Don Basilio in Il Barbiere di Siviglia by Rossini, Daland in Der Fliegende Holländer by Wagner, and others.

The guest conductor Marius Stravinsky (the UK), already well-known to the Krasnoyarsk audience, will take the conductor's stand on June 16.
