On June 12, the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre will host a concert of the cycle Maestro Invites. - "I sing to you, my Russia!", It’ll be dedicated to the state holiday - the Day of Russia, and acquired the name I Sing to You, My Russia! The author of the concert programme is the Chief Conductor of the theatre, Honoured Artist of Russia Anatoliy Chepurnoy.
The audience of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will hear popular and beloved classical songs dedicated to Russia and its people. Needless to say that war songs are a sine qua non of an event like this. Significant works for Russians will be performed: Siniy Platochek (Blue Kerchief), Na Solnechnoy Polyanochke (On a Sunny Meadow), Tyomnaya Noch (Dark Night), Smuglyanka (Swarthy Girl), Katyusha, Ekhal Ya Iz Berlina (I Rode from Berlin), as well as songs by Krasnoyarsk authors about war and victory - Great-Grandfather (Nina Shusteva-Griniova), Victory (Yuri Polomsky, Ilya Kleymits). By the way, a song about our hometown will also be performed: Krasnoyarsk Stretched Out the Streets by Alexander Shemryakov and Peter Chizhov.
Krasnoyarsk residents will be pleased to hear beautiful melodies and cordial texts of popular Soviet songs: Echo of Love, Rustle of Birches, I See Vast Expanse, I Look at Blue Lakes, A Conversation with Happiness. It won’t do without Russian folk songs: Oh You Darling, Valenki, I'll Go Outside, Kalinka. The concert programme includes even the songs We Rotate the Earth and Earth Song by Vladimir Vysotsky and Cuckoo by Viktor Tsoi.
Some jazz music wouldn't go amiss: a saxophone quartet will perform a fantasy on themes by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov; before the concert, the audience will listen to the Yulia Baranova JAZZ-Orchestra; during the intermission, a brass quintet will appear on the stage.
The songs will be performed by the soloists, chorus and orchestra of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre; and the concert will be spiced up by the students of the Alla Sandul Variety and Jazz School and the children's music centre Magic Microphone.
