Ballet stars to take part in the Gala Night in Krasnoyarsk

The Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre invites the audience to a ballet concert on May 21.

Three pairs of principal dancers - Natalia Bobrova and Georgy Bolsunovsky, Elena Svinko and Marcello Pelizzoni, Anna Fedosova and Yuri Kudryavtsev - as well as other artists of the ballet company will present their dance and acting skills to the audience. The concert programme includes spectacular pieces from classical and contemporary ballets.

Spectators will be pleased with excerpts from the favourite ballets of Pyotr Tchaikovsky: Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, as well as Ludwig Minkus’ Don Quixote. It will be interesting to see fragments from performances that have not been staged on the Krasnoyarsk stage for a long time or never: Corsair by Adolf Adam, Flames of Paris by Boris Asafiev, Stone Flower by Sergei Prokofiev, Legend of Love by Arif Melikov, Esmeralda by Cesare Pugni.

Particular attention is paid to the landmark performance of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre in the 44th season - the ballet Catarina or La Fille du Bandit to the music of Cesare Pugni staged by Honoured Artists of Russia Yuliana Malkhasiants and Sergei Bobrov. In the second part of the concert, Carnival from the fifth scene of Catarina, Spanish dance, Dance of Pierrot and Jugglers will be danced.

For the principal dancers of the Krasnoyarsk ballet company, the gala concert will become one of the stages of preparation for an important event - the 14th International Ballet Competition. It will take place between 3 and 11 June at the Bolshoi Theatre and be dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the legendary choreographer Yuri Grigorovich.
