Eugene Onegin: three invited musicians

Within the Russian opera festival Slovtsov. Postscriptum, the opera Eugene Onegin by Pyotr Tchaikovsky will be performed on the stage of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre on March 22. Guest stars will take part in the performance.

Honoured Artist of Russia Andrey Anikhanov will conduct the opera Eugene Onegin for the second time: the maestro already conducted this show in November 2022. In 2010, he was invited by choreographer Vladimir Vasilyev to work on the Reinhold Glière’s ballet The Red Poppy at the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre; in 2012, he took part in the concert of the Krasnoyarsk Symphony Orchestra, the premiere of Russian Requiem by Alexander Tchaikovsky.

Anastasia Lepeshinskaya, who will perform the part of Olga in the upcoming Eugene Onegin, is a graduate of the Krasnoyarsk State Academy of Music and Theatre (now the Dmitri Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Institute of Arts). After completing her studies, she improved her skills on the stage of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre for 10 years; then, she collaborated with many Russian theatres. Since 2017, Anastasia has been a soloist of the Moscow Novaya Opera Theatre; there, she performs, among other roles, the part of Olga in this Tchaikovsky's opera.

Tenor singer Tserenchunt Ulziyburen will make his debut as Lensky on the Krasnoyarsk stage on February 22. The artist was born in Mongolia; he graduated from the Institute of Art and Culture there and the Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg Conservatory in Russia. He was a soloist of the Buryat Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre (since 2013); now, he’s a soloist of the Opera and Ballet Theatre of Mongolia. The singer's repertoire comprises more than 20 roles including leading tenor parts in operas by Mozart, Rossini, Verdi, Tchaikovsky (Lensky in Eugene Onegin among them), as well as roles in operas by Mongolian composers. Tserenchunt Ulziyburen gives numerous concerts in the cities of Russia and Mongolia; he has recorded ten solo discs.

As a reminder: tickets for the opera Eugene Onegin can be purchased at the theatre box office (open daily from 10:00 to 20:00), on the website, as well as on ticket operators' sites.
