On October 1, soloist of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre Eugeny Baldanov will perform his favourite works from his repertoire at the concert Jokingly and In Earnest dedicated to the 20th anniversary of his creative activity.

The first part of the concert will comprise the music of Russian composers. The fixture of the lyric tenor’s repertoire is the aria of the Indian guest from the opera Sadko by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and the Duke's song from Rigoletto by Giuseppe Verdi. These opera gems will open the maestro’s concert. In addition, a duet of Adina and Nemorino from Gaetano Donizetti’s L'Elisir d'Amore (along with Inna Spodina), a trio from Donizetti's La Fille du Régiment (with Alexandra Cherpakova and Alexander Mikhaliov), a drinking song from Verdi's La Traviata (with Inna Spodina and Daria Frolova), and other astonishing opera excerpts will be presented to the audience.

The piano quartet Maestro will accompany the singers in the first part of the concert (Elena Chepurnaya - piano, Irina Chepurnaya - violin, Natalia Chepurnaya - cello, Sergei Gavrilenko - cello).

The second part consisting of the singer's favourite songs (among them are film soundtracks) will open with Italian concert hit Caruso by Lucio Dalla performed solo by Eugeny Baldanov. The artist will also perform the popular songs These Vis-а-vis Eyes (solo), Joke (along with Anna Kharitonova), a duet from the film Les Parapluies de Cherbourg (with Anna Kiseliova). Soloists of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre Yekaterina Zubkova, Olga Monastyrshina, Alexandra Cherpakova, Yekaterina Kochetova, Alexander Mikhaliov, and Dmitri Ryabtsev will also take the stage along with the hero of the day. At the end of the concert, all participants will perform Eugeny Krylatov's song The Beautiful Afar from the TV film Guest from the Future.
