The traditional Christmas and New Year charity campaign Give the Gift of a Theatre Ticket is being launched by the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre in partnership with the Boomerang of Kindness charitable foundation. The campaign will run until 31 January 2026.
A New Year tree has already been set up in the theatre’s box office foyer. Alongside traditional decorations, it is adorned with festive theatre cards bearing the names of those who would be especially happy to receive a New Year gift: children without parental care and from low-income families, people with disabilities, and elderly residents of nursing homes. They do not always have the opportunity to attend a performance or concert. There are more than one hundred such cards on the tree.
Any theatre-goer can take part in this act of kindness. It’s easy: visit the theatre during box office hours (10:00 am to 8:00 pm), choose one of the campaign participants, take the card with their name from the tree, purchase a ticket to any performance from the theatre’s repertoire, and leave the card with the ticket at the box office. With the help of the Boomerang of Kindness foundation staff, the ticket will be delivered to the recipient, and the theatre will also add a complimentary seat for an accompanying person.
The theatre has been running the Give the Gift of a Theatre Ticket New Year campaign together with Boomerang of Kindness since 2017. Over the years, caring residents of Krasnoyarsk have purchased and donated more than 1,200 tickets.
