Guest soloists to perform the ballet Catarina ou la Fille du Bandit

On March 4 and 5, guest artists from theatres of St.Petersburg and Moscow will take the stage of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre in the ballet Catarina ou la Fille du Bandit by Cesare Pugni.

On March 5, the favourite of the Krasnoyarsk audience Elena Svinko will perform the title part. Elena had danced for six years at the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. Since August 2022, she has been a principal dancer of the Mikhailovsky Theatre in St. Petersburg. For the last time within the Krasnoyarsk ballet company, she brilliantly danced Catarina on the Historical Stage of the Bolshoi Theatre as part of the sensational tour of the Siberian Theatre in Moscow. For this part, Elena Svinko received a nomination for the National Theatre Award Golden Mask: her competitive performance of it will take place on March 21, 2023, also on the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre.

In Krasnoyarsk on March 5, Marcello Pelizzoni will perform the role of Diavolino who is in love with Catarina. The day earlier, the Moscow guest, principal dancer of the Bolshoi Theatre Igor Pugachiov will dance this part on the Krasnoyarsk stage. In an interview, Igor Pugachiov noted that he prefers rather passionate and charismatic characters than romantic princes. Diavolino is one of those characters.

Igor was born in Perm; he graduated from the Moscow State Choreography Academy and joined the Bolshoi Ballet Company in 2017. Also in 2017, he became a laureate of the 3rd degree of the 2nd international Moscow competition of classical, modern and folk stage choreography DANCEMOSCOW and a laureate of the 2nd prize of the 1st International Ballet Dancers and Choreographers Competition (Moscow).

Igor Pugachiov danced in the following productions of the Bolshoi Theatre: The Flames of Paris by Asafiev, The Nutcracker and The Sleeping Beauty by Tchaikovsky, Romeo and Juliet by Prokofiev, La Bayadère and Don Quixote by Minkus, La Fille du Pharaon by Pugni, La Sylphide by Løvenskiold, Spartacus by Khachaturian, The Limpid Stream and The Taming of the Shrew to the music by Shostakovich, and others. In 2022, Pugachiov performed the striking role of Abderakhman in Raymonda by Alexander Glazunov.
