For the first time in a long while, Giuseppe Verdi's opera Il Trovatore reappears on the playbill of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre. The last time the production was performed was exactly five years ago - in February 2020. Il Trovatore will be back on March 1 and 2 within the international festival Stars Parade at the Opera. Slovtsov.
The premiere of the production staged in the style of historical medieval fantasy and reminiscent of the TV series Game of Thrones took place on November 25, 2017. A young team worked on the show: production director was Maria Tikhonova, production designer was Irina Sid, lighting designer was Narek Tumanyan, a nominee of the Russian national theatre award Golden Mask.
Maria Tikhonova will very shortly begin rehearsing with the opera company to restore the production. The invited Italian conductor Filippo Dessi is rehearsing with the vocalists and musicians of the orchestra. He’s also an Italian language tutor. The maestro worked as assistant conductor, a recitative tutor, and a harpsichord performer in the Theatre's recent bright premiere - the opera Il Barbiere di Siviglia by Gioachino Rossini.

The following invited artists - guests of the festival Stars Parade at the Opera. Slovtsov - will take part in the performances of Il Trovatore: Eugenia Krokhina (the Minsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, Belarus) as Leonora, Emil Sakavov (Abay Kazakh Opera and Ballet Theatre, Kazakhstan) as Count di Luna, Ksenia Dudnikova (Bolshoi Theatre of Russia) as Azucena. These parts will also be sung by soloists of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre Anna Avakyan (Leonora), Pavel Antsiferov (Count di Luna), and Daria Ryabinko (Azucena). Honoured Artists of Buryatia Mergen Sandanov and Mikhail Pirogov will perform the leading male part of Manrico on March 1 and 2 respectively.
