This week, a conductor of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre Mikhail Leontyev will collaborate with two Russian symphony orchestras in St. Petersburg and Surgut.
In Surgut on December 21, Maxim Averin will perform the concert programme The Nutcracker and Mouse King based on the music by Pyotr Tchaikovsky; he’ll be accompanied by the Surgut Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. Mikhail Leontyev is Artistic Director of this orchestra, and he will also take part in the show as a conductor.
On December 23, the concert Moment and Eternity will be held in St. Petersburg within the Anton and Nikolai Rubinsteins International Festival named Rachmaninov and the Silver Age. The prelude for orchestra Princess of Dreams and etude Idyll by Nikolai Tcherepnin, piano concertos by Alexander Scriabin and Sergei Rachmaninov (soloists are Yulia Stadler, Alexei Nabiulin) will be performed at the concert. Mikhail Leontyev will take the conductor’s stand of the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra.
Since December 28, the maestro will be working in Krasnoyarsk: he’ll conduct four shows of the ballet The Nutcracker by Pyotr Tchaikovsky and twice – Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s opera The Snow Maiden (on the 4th and 5th of January).
