The principal soloist of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, Honoured Artist of Buryatia Mikhail Pirogov is going to take the stage of the NOVAT.
On May 5, Mikhail will take part in the Gala Night dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. Celebrations were scheduled to take place last year but had to be postponed due to the pandemic.
Mikhail Pirogov will perform Calaf's aria Nessun Dorma from the opera Turandot by Giacomo Puccini and also sing the part of Herman in the duet of Herman and Lisa from the opera The Queen of Spades by Pyotr Tchaikovsky.
The programme of the concert includes arias, ensembles, scenes from Russian and foreign operas, and the best fragments of ballet classics. Beside Mikhail Pirogov, there is Maria Barakova among the guest stars, a soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre's Youth Programme, as well as Olesya Petrova, a soloist of the Mikhailovsky Theatre. At the conductor’s stand, there will be the chief conductor of the NOVAT Dmitri Yurovsky. It’s worth reminding that he conducted The Queen of Spades at the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre on April 17: Mikhail Pirogov took part in that performance as well.
Mikhail will take the stage of the Krasnoyarsk Opera House on May 20 and 23: he’ll sing the role of Jose in the ballet opera Carmen to music by Georges Bizet.
