The first month of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre’s 42nd season is lavish of the first performances of both ballet and opera company members.
On September 13, the opera Yermak by Alexander Tchaikovsky will officially open the 42nd season - in the speechless role of the healer, Vasily Korsar will replace Nikita Filaretov who has left the company.
On September 15, Natalia Bobrova will perform the part of the Witch in the powerful "prehistoric action" - Sergei Prokofiev’s ballet The Rite of Spring - for the first time.
Alexander Cherpakov and Alexei Sokolov are preparing to appear on the stage for the first time in The Medium opera by Gian Carlo Menotti in the roles of Monica and Mr. Gobineau. Vladimir Bragin will appear in the plastic role of the mute young man Toby. The performance will take place on September 21.
For Natalia Plotnikova, the Princess’s part will be the debut in the mystical show based on Alexander Dargomyzhsky’s opera The Mermaid.
The spectacular ballet of Tikhon Khrennikov A Hussar Ballad returns to the theatre’s stage on September 26 and 27 with a new cast of the soloists. So, George Bolsunovsky will perform the part of Lieutenant Rzhevsky for the first time, Marcello Pelizzoni and Daniil Kostylev are to dance the part his friend Denis Davydov, Alexei Balva as retired Major Azarov, Denis Kazarin as a Russian officer, and Yegor Osokin as a French officer.
