Opera for the Whole Family at the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre

Opera for the Whole Family is a new project by the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre designed to introduce children aged 5 to 10 and their parents to the world of classical art. Admission is free, but only for those who have purchased tickets to the performance Dreamer and His Friends.

Theatre foyers on the 1st and 2nd floors will be transformed into an interactive space on 14 September. From 2:30 p.m., the theatre will open its grand entrance for preschoolers and primary school children. Inside, families will find a variety of games and creative activities that will immerse them in the magical world of opera and ballet.

Children will be able to play games with ballet characters, try costumes and wigs on, experiment with stage make-up and take fun photos, craft stage props, join in a quiz, and even sing a children’s song together with soloists from the opera company. The festive day will conclude with the performance of Dreamer and His Friends at 6:00 p.m.

The Opera for the Whole Family project has been created by the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre in partnership with the Regional Branch of the Union of Russian Families, the Association of Non-State Education, and the Central Siberian Chamber of Commerce and Industry as part of its anniversary celebrations.
