Sergei Bobrov received a medal of the Russian Federation

Honoured Artist of Russia Sergei Bobrov who had served for almost 20 years as Artistic Director of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, received the first medal of the Krasnoyarsk Region “For Works in the Field of Culture and Art”.

The prestigious award was presented by the Minister of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk Region Arkady Zinov on behalf of the Governor Alexander Uss. The medal “For Works in the Field of Culture and Art” was established by the Decree of the President of August 9, 2021. It is awarded for personal merits in enhancing the role of national culture and art in society, preserving the spiritual and moral values of the peoples of the Russian Federation, creating and promoting the most significant projects in the field of culture and art.

Sergei Bobrov’s activities fully comply with these terms. He produced over thirty opera and ballet productions in Krasnoyarsk, organized the international forum Ballet the 21st Century, the contemporary art project Art in the Quadrat, and many other creative projects. These achievements contributed to promoting the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre in Russia and abroad, as well as drawing attention of the wide circles of spectators to the high opera and ballet art.

Productions by Sergei Bobrov have repeatedly participated in regional, all-Russian, and international competitions and festivals. Four of his works - Romeo and Juliet, Bogatyrs, Les Mamelles de Tirésias, and Catarina ou la Fille du Bandit - were nominated for the Golden Mask National Theatre Award. The production of Les Mamelles de Tirésias won the award; for his role in Bogatyrs, the soloist of the Theatre Mikhail Pirogov received an honorary award.

During the 20 years of Sergei Bobrov's work in Krasnoyarsk, the Theatre annually went on Russian and international tours. Under his direction, the Theatre’s company toured the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia in the summer of 2022 for the first time. The last work of Sergei Rudolfovich in our Theatre - the ballet Catarina ou la Fille du Bandit - became one of the best premieres in Russia and was nominated for the Golden Mask in 10 categories.
