September 12 the Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre opens the anniversary 40th creative season.
This evening, small documentary about the history of the theatre will be shown to the public. It included chronicles and archival photographs of the construction of the theatre and its first performances from the funds of the Krasnoyarsk "Kinograf" and the Ethnography Museum. Next, a big gala concert will be presented, in its program fragments of the works of Russian composers from the repertoire of our theatre for 39 seasons.
Ballet numbers, opera arias, duets, choral and symphonic sketches will continue each other or weave in a completely unexpected way. This evening, characters who would never meet in "life", for example, Tomsky from the opera Eugene Onegin and Marina Mnishek from Boris Godunov, appear on the stage.
The concert will feature excerpts from such works as Ivan Susanin by M. Glinka, Sadko by N. Rimsky-Korsakov, Aleko by S. Rachmaninov and others performed by the choir and soloists of the opera. Ballet dancers will perform "Russian Dance" from P. Tchaikovsky's ballet Swan Lake, an overture to M. Glinka's opera "Ruslan and Lyudmila" and an incendiary lezginka from the premiere of last season - Ts. Cui's opera "The Prisoner of the Caucasus".
