The brightest event of the theatrical summer!

From June 17 till June 20, the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will host the tour performances of the Perm Academic Theatre-Theatre. This company is a many-time laureate of the most prestigious theatrical awards, among them is the Golden Mask.

The tour will start with the magic fairy tale full of transformations and unprecedented adventures - the musical Little Longnose to the music of the famous Russian composer Lora Quint, based on the story by Wilhelm Hauff (6+). This is the story of the boy Jacob, whom the witch turned into an ugly dwarf with a long nose. He’ll have to go through great trials in front of spectators. It’s possible to restore his real appearance only by forces of love and kindness. This performance will catch the fancy of spectators of any age.

“I always wanted to create a fairy tale that will appeal to both children and adults”, says director Boris Milgram, - “A sort of big Broadway musical in Disney style with circus acts, tricks and transformations. The fairy tale Little Longnose is appropriate for such a musical - it's all made up of magic and wizardry”.

Little Longnose is a bright performance of a large scale - 130 actors are involved in it, the youngest of them is only 8 years old! The total weight of the decorations is 8 tons. Spectators are going to enjoy spectacular tricks with mirrors, magic scenes with flying objects and heroes and ... a live goose.

Among those who created the magic world of the show there is a Krasnoyarsk citizen - a many-time nominee of the Golden Mask, artistic director Daniil Akhmedov (Krasnoyarsk Young Spectator's Theatre) - the recognized maestro of the children's theatre.

The performance will be shown on June 17 at 2:00 and 6:00 p.m., and on June 18 at 7:00 pm.

Also, as part of the tour, the Krasnoyarsk audience will see the musical Scarlet Sails based on the book by Alexander Grin (12+). The performance is the winner of the Russian National Theatre Award Golden Mask in the nomination “The Best Director”.

This is one of the most romantic stories in the world - it’s about the dreamy Assol, who could wait and believe. This performance is about how hard it is to hold on to a dream and to believe when people around you are disenchanted. The story of love and hope is told incredibly emotionally and passionately by means of music and vocals, plastique and dance.

The composer of the musical is Maxim Dunaevsky. He is known as the author of music for the films “D'Artagnan and Three Musketeers”, “The Flying Ship”, “Ah Vaudeville, Vaudeville ...”, “Carnival”, “Mary Poppins, Goodbye!”. Inventive choreography and moving scenery, as well as the magical music of Maxim Dunaevsky - they constitute an entire organic story of Assol telling it with a tremendously impressive force.

Scarlet Sails is an incredibly spectacular and impressive production of a large scale. 270 costumes were made up and sewn for it out of more than one kilometre of fabric. 120 men take part in the play - the whole theatre’s artistic staff, ballet company and orchestra.

The shows will take place on June 19 and 20 at 7:00 p.m..

The tour is a part of the Big Tours programme of the Federal Centre for Support of Tour Activities and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
