Winter hasn't even started yet, but Krasnoyarsk residents can already plan their leisure activities in the springtime: the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre has started ticket sales for the events of March and April.
On March 26 and 27, spectators will again have the opportunity to attend the spectacular opera show of Il Barbiere di Siviglia by Gioachino Rossini that’ll premiere in just a few days (music director and conductor is Dmitri Yurovsky, production director is Irina Lychagina). In March, the iconic productions premiered in the previous 46th season will be performed: Jules Massenet's opera Manon (on March 23) and Adolphe Adam's ballet Le Corsaire (on March 19 and 20). Both productions are included in the line-up of the regional festival Theatrical Spring.
In the first months of spring, the audience's favourite productions will be presented - the ones among the world classics treasures forming the basis of the repertoire of any theatre in the world: the operas Aida by Giuseppe Verdi, The Queen of Spades by Pyotr Tchaikovsky (within the festival Stars Parade at the Opera. Slovtsov), the ballet opera Carmen to the music of Georges Bizet, the ballets Swan Lake by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, La Fille Mal Gardée by Peter Ludwig Hertel.
The ballet Raymonda by Alexander Glazunov and the fairy tale VLittle Red Riding Hood to the music of Alexei Rybnikov are returning to the Theatre’s playbill after a length of absence.
