The Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre to tour Sochi in November

On 4 October, the new Sirius Concert Hall in Sochi was officially opened. Just a month later, artists from the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will perform on its grand stage, showcasing their artistry to audiences in the newly inaugurated venue.

“The Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will take part in the Opera Days at Sirius project,” said Svetlana Guziy, the theatre’s Chief Executive. “We’re bringing two of our most vibrant productions on tour: on 11 November, we’ll present Lakmé by Léo Delibes, staged by Sergey Novikov, and on 12 November, Il Barbiere di Siviglia by Gioachino Rossini, directed by Irina Lychagina. Krasnoyarsk artists will be the first ones from Siberia to perform on the new Sirius stage — and the first to present a full opera there. The skill of our musicians and soloists allows us to represent Siberia and Russia with pride on the finest stages across the country and the world.”

Meanwhile, Krasnoyarsk audiences will have a chance to see Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia on 8 and 9 October before the company sets out for Sochi.
