The Krasnoyarsk Opera House to take part in the Theatrical Spring festival

On March 15, the regional theatre festival Theatrical Spring begins. The Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre was nominated in 13 categories.

All categories refer to three performances: the audience will have an opportunity to watch them along with the jury of the Theatrical Spring.

Ruggero Leoncavallo's opera Pagliacci will be performed on March 18. Among the nominees, there are soloists of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre Anna Avakyan (Best Female Role in an Opera for performing Nedda), Honoured Artist of Buryatia Mikhail Pirogov (Best Male Role in an Opera for performing Canio), Alexander Mikhaliov (Best Male Supporting Role in an Opera for Silvio).

On March 22, the first Russian slapstick operetta Bogatyri to the music of Alexander Borodin will be presented at the Quadrat art space. Ivan Velikanov (Best Conductor), soloist Daria Ryabinko (Best Female Role in an Opera for performing Militrisa Kirbityevna), Elena Zaitseva (Best Costume Designer) will compete for the Crystal Mask award.

On March 25, the choreographic mystery show Leningrad Symphony (Lamento) to the music of Syumak, Shostakovich, and Mozart. It presents the largest "harvest" of nominations: the performance Leningrad Symphony (Best Premiere in a Music Theatre); Ivan Velikanov (Best Conductor); Olesya Aldonina, Natalia Bobrova (Best Production Choreographer); Ksenia Sorokina, Ivars Noviks (Best Production Designer); Varvara Timofeeva (Best Costume Designer); Natalia Bobrova (Best Female Role in a Ballet for performing Young Woman); Georgy Bolsunovsky (Best Male Role in a Ballet for performing Young Man).

The announcement and awarding of the festival winners will take place on March 27, International Theatre Day.
