The project of the Ministry of Culture of Russia Pushkinskaya Karta (the Pushkin Card) was launched on September 1

The federal project Pushkin Card is aimed at promoting cultural events among young people. The Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre takes part in it.

Starting from September 1, Russian citizens aged 14 to 22 will be able to receive a Pushkin card; its balance will be 3,000 roubles. This money can be spent until the end of the year and only in cultural institutions: museums, theatres, philharmonic societies, galleries, and other venues. The list of events that can be attended using the Pushkin card has already been published on «Культура.РФ» and is constantly being updated. Federal, regional, municipal and private cultural institutions throughout Russia joined the programme.

“Now more than 7000 events and 1353 cultural venues in 85 regions of our country are ready to participate in the programme. 40 private venues have prepared their events, exhibitions, performances specifically for the Pushkinskaya Karta,” said the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova.

To get a Pushkin card, you need to register on the Gosuslugi website and install the Gosuslugi.Kultura mobile application.

The card will be issued in a virtual format and as a plastic card, which can be ordered at the Bank Post branches.

On the websites of cultural venues that have joined the programme, it will be possible to buy tickets using the Pushkin card (and the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre is no exception). The same option will be provided by major ticket sale systems and operators. Besides, if you connect the Pushkin card to Google Pay, Samsung Pay and Apple Pay systems, you’ll be able to purchase tickets at the box offices of the venues.

The balance of the Pushkin card cannot be replenished by its user: the state will credit the funds to it once a year. In 2022, the face value of the card will be 5,000 roubles. The balance of funds will not be carried over to the next year.

“This project was missed by everyone,” noted Olga Lyubimova. “On the one hand, families of young people do not have enough spare money to visit cultural venues, since students are often focused on family life, teenagers - on entering universities and technical schools; nearly all money is invested in studies. On the other hand, this is very important for the cultural institutions themselves: they have the opportunity to develop exhibitions, special productions and performances, which are attended by the entire school or college classes. This is a good opportunity for young people, and it also is important for teachers of literature or history because these are additional education opportunities.”

The creators of the project are also working on the development of additional features of the Pushkin card, for example, on transferring funds from one card to another.
