The Strings of Soul concert of the Mariinsky Theatre soloists to be held in Krasnoyarsk

The Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre will, on September 12, host the gala concert Strings of Soul with the participation of the Mariinsky Theatre soloists. 

The Krasnoyarsk stage will be taken by the Mariinsky Ballet dancers (prima ballerina Nadezhda Batoeva, principal dancers Timur Askerov, Maria Shirinkina, Tatiana Tkachenko, Filipp Stepin, Yaroslav Pushkov, Maxim Izmestiev) and opera singers (soprano Gelena Gaskarova, tenor Alexander Mikhailov, baritone Vladimir Moroz). 

This concert in Krasnoyarsk will be held as part of the St. Petersburg artists’ tour supported by the Russian Regional Development Bank within the bank's sponsorship project From Region to Region. The project is set up to unite Russian regions with the idea of ​​the shared spiritual and social values of Russia, to present the achievements of Russian culture, to exchange cultural heritage created in various parts of the largest country. Creative teams from St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Ufa, Samara, Volgograd have already taken part in the project. The tours of artists from these cities were a huge success and became regional events. The Diaghilev International Cultural Centre, which launched the project, will bring this unique production  to Krasnoyarsk. 

The programme of the two-act gala concert includes famous opera and ballet pieces to the music by Russian composers. They are Polovtsian Dances (opera Prince Igor by Alexander Borodin), Lensky's aria (opera Eugene Onegin by Pyotr Tchaikovsky), White Scene and Black Pas de Deux (ballet Swan Lake by Pyotr Tchaikovsky), Finale Duet and Knight's Dance (ballet Romeo and Juliet by Sergei Prokofiev).
 The audience will see the pas de deux and coda from Tchaikovsky's ballet The Nutcracker and other famous pieces.

The concert will be accompanied by live orchestral music, choir singers, and corps de ballet artists. A conductor of the Mariinsky Theatre, Chief Conductor of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre Pavel Smelkov will take the conductor's stand.
