The Theatre has unveiled plans for the 47th season

The annual traditional meeting of the team of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre was held; the results of the previous season were summed up at it and the most striking events of the upcoming 47th season were presented.

Chief Executive of the Theatre Svetlana Guziy, Musical Director and Principal Conductor Dmitri Yurovsky, Artistic Director of the ballet company, People's Artist of Russia Anna Zharova greeted colleagues and told about the premieres and other significant events of the new season.

The opening of the season itself will be grandiose: the premiere of the concert performance of the opera Norma by Vincenzo Bellini with the participation of Honoured Artist of Russia Albina Shagimuratova will be held on September 19. The world opera star will also take part in the opera and ballet gala concert on September 21. In October, spectators will see the long-awaited ballet Spartacus by Aram Khachaturian; the entire company is now actively working on the restoration of its. In November, the premiere of Gioachino Rossini's opera Il Barbiere di Siviglia, one of the most popular operas in the world, will be held. The production was supported by the grant obtained from the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

In October, the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will host two events within the Hvorostovsky Arts Festival: a concert version of La Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi performed by young soloists of the Bolshoi Theatre and a gala concert of soloists of three theatres (Bolshoi, Mariinsky, and Krasnoyarsk Opera House). The autumn will be rich in anniversary concerts: People's Artists of Russia Vladimir Efimov and Larisa Marzoeva, as well as Irina Dolzhenko (Bolshoi Theatre) are going to present their galas.

In February 2025, the premiere of Giacomo Puccini's opera Turandot directed by Sergei Novikov will open the traditional festival Stars Parade at the Opera. Slovtsov. On May 1, the birthday of the writer Viktor Astafyev, the world premiere of Alexander Tchaikovsky's opera To Love in War will take place. The opera is based on Astafyev's works about the WWII. The plans also include the restoration of Ludwig Minkus's ballets Don Quixote and La Bayadère, the operas Sadko by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and Il Trovatore by Giuseppe Verdi.

Exchange tours with the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre (Vladivostok) are scheduled for May-June 2025. The negotiations for the tour of the Buryat Opera and Ballet Theatre in Krasnoyarsk in June 2025 are in full  swing now; the tour will include a performance of Nikita Dmitrievsky's Ballet.

At the meeting, artists of the Theatre were traditionally given honorary certificates and letters of commendation on behalf of the Governor, the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Region, the regional Ministry of Culture, and the city administration. Anna Zharova and Dmitry Yurovsky introduced new artists of ballet, opera, choir, and orchestra. 23 new employees have joined the companies of the Theatre.

“I wish all of us fruitful work! I hope for a brilliant result as always,” Svetlana Guziy summed up the meeting.
