Ticket sales for the main musical event of the autumn have started

The Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre and Dmitri Hvorostovsky Festival announce the start of ticket sales for the long-awaited premiere: the opera Il Dissoluto Punito, Ossia il Don Giovanni (Don Juan, or the Punished Libertine) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The performance will be the highlight of the Festival, which will take place between October 16 and 31, 2021.

Preparations for the premiere began in March. The Artistic Director of the Festival Anton Levakhin brought together a phenomenal creative team for the production. The production is being created by conductor Peter Feranec (Slovakia), director Michael Sturminger (Austria), master-accompanist Christian Koch (Austria), production designers Renate Martin and Andreas Donhauser (Austria), designer Ahsar Muriev (Russia), lighting designer A.J. Weissbard (USA), and vocal teacher Bozena Ferancova (Slovakia). Eugenio Maria Degiacomi (Italy) teaches Italian to Krasnoyarsk soloists: the opera is performed in the source language.

“We hope that the new show will become a landmark event of the Festival and will rank high in the repertoire of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre that bears the name of Dmitri Hvorostovsky. The opera Don Giovanni is a genius work by Mozart. It is fittingly called the “queen of operas”. Dmitri Hvorostovsky himself shone in the roles of Don Giovanni and Leporello on stages all over the world. I am sure that our production is an amazing opportunity for young gifted artists to work with renowned masters who will help them reach the world level,” says Anton Levakhin.

For several months now, an eminent team from Austria, Germany, Italy, Slovakia, and the United States has been helping artists of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre and students of the Siberian State Institute of Arts prepare for the big event.

World opera stars will take part in the performances along with leading Krasnoyarsk performers. We will reveal their names only before the premiere!

“It is very important that all music fans and representatives of all social groups would have the possibility to attend world-class performances and concerts at the most affordable prices,” emphasizes the Minister of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk Region Arkady Zinov.

Thanks to the support of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Art Development Fund, the tickets prices for all events of the Festival will be between 400 and 2000 rubles.

Krasnoyarsk again hosts a cultural event of an international scale; it is to develop musical traditions and support the unique creative heritage of Dmitri Hvorostovsky.

The premiere shows will take place on October 21, 22 and 23, 2021.
