On September 22, the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will open the new season with an opera and ballet gala night. Tickets for the September, October, and November performances are already on sale.

The programme of the opening concert will feature the season premieres: scenes from the ballet Le Corsaire, the operas Manon, Orpheus and Eurydice, Boris Godunov, and other productions.

The eminent conductor Dmitri Yurovsky will take the conductor’s stand. Guest stars will come to the season opening show to congratulate the Theatre on its anniversary. Honoured Artist of Russia Albina Shagimuratova charmed the opera capitals of the world: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Salzburg, Vienna, Berlin ... Now the citizens of Krasnoyarsk will have the chance to listen to her magical lyric-coloratura soprano. Ballet stars will take the stage: People's Artist of Russia Anna Zharova, principal dancers of the Bolshoi Theatre Honoured Artist of Russia Eugenia Obraztsova and Semion Chudin. They will present the best examples of contemporary and classical choreography to the audience.

The staging team of the concert comprises maestro Dmitri Yurovsky, Principal Director of the Theatre and Artistic Director of the opera company Irina Lychagina, Artistic Director of the ballet company, People's Artist of Russia Anna Zharova, and Principal Designer Maria Vysotskaya.

In November, the audience will see the first premiere of the 46th season: a concert performance of Modest Mussorgsky's opera Boris Godunov. The title part will be performed by one of the best bass singers in the world, Honoured Artist of Russia Dmitri Ulyanov, soloist of the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre.

The autumn playbill will also include major premieres of previous seasons. These are the ballets Dante's Catharsis, Catarina ou la Fille du Bandit, the operas Without a Dowry, Lakme, The Oprichnik, and other favourite productions of the audience of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre.
