Children’s opera Cat’s House to premiere at the KRAZ Opera
A new family-friendly production will premiere at the KRAZ Opera, the newly opened venue of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. Young audiences and their parents are invited to the first performances of the children’s opera Cat’s House, with music by Alexander Kulygin.

Verdi’s Rigoletto to premiere in February
On 7 and 8 February, the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre invites audiences to the premiere performances of Giuseppe Verdi’s Rigoletto. A special preview for holders of the Pushkin Card will take place on 6 February, followed by a post-show meeting with young theatre-goers and the production’s director, Sergei Novikov.

Krasnoyarsk principal ballet dancers honoured on Artists Day
Artists Day was celebrated in Russia for the first time on January 17. At a ceremonial event held at the Pushkin Krasnoyarsk Drama Theatre, the professionals received a range of awards. Among the honourees were Yury Kudryavtsev and Matvey Nikishaev, principal dancers of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre.

Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre to Present Awards on Artists Day
On 17 January, the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will join the rest of the country in celebrating Artists Day for the first time. This Saturday, the theatre will host a meeting with People’s and Honoured Artists, followed by a special awards ceremony at which silver badges of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will be presented.

NOVAT soloist Elizaveta Tselikova to take the stage in The Tsar’s Bride
On 17 January, the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will present Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s opera The Tsar’s Bride. The part of the tragic heroine Lyubasha will be performed by mezzo-soprano singer Elizaveta Tselikova, a soloist of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre (NOVAT).

Parade of Tenors to open international opera festival in Krasnoyarsk
The international festival Stars Parade at the Opera. Slovtsov will open on 31 January with its traditional Parade of Tenors. Joining the soloists of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre on stage will be South Korean tenor singer Son Ji-hoon along with the singers from Moscow Ivan Gyngazov and Kirill Matveev.

Students of the Balletto Dance School to perform the shows as part of New Year’s greetings
In the run-up to the New Year, the Hvorostovsky) p Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will host a beautiful and touching event within its festive programme: a performance by the youngest students of the children’s dance school Balletto. The girls will take the stage on 27, 28, and 29 December ahead of the evening performances of The Nutcracker, and on 26 December before the daytime performance.
