Before Aida: A talk with musicologist Svetlana Voitkevich
On March 5, the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will present Giuseppe Verdi’s opera Aida. Thirty minutes before the curtain rises (at 6:30 PM), audiences are invited to the second-floor foyer for a pre-performance talk with musicologist and guest lecturer Svetlana Voitkevich.

Valentin Kolesnikov to perform at the Mariinsky Theatre’s Primorsky Stage
Valentin Kolesnikov, tenor soloist with the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, will appear as a guest artist at the Mariinsky Theatre Primorsky Stage. On February 27, he will perform the role of Ivan Lykov in Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s opera The Tsar’s Bride.

A talk on the world around Pushkin and Onegin at the Theatre
Half an hour before the performance of Eugene Onegin, audiences at the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre are invited to a pre-show talk with Dmitri Zadnepryanov, Head of Literary Affairs at the theatre. The lecture is titled The World Around Pushkin and Onegin, will take place on February 25, and will explore the historical and cultural context of Eugene Onegin.

Meet Ivan Karnaukhov before the performance of Anyuta
On February 20, the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre named will host the Ivan Karnaukhov benefit performance, an Honoured Artist of Krasnoyarsk Region and ballet coach at the theatre’s ballet company. This year marks the 25th anniversary of his professional career.

World premiere of the ballet Pushkin to be presented in March
The Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre is in full swing preparing a new production — the ballet Pushkin by choreographer Nikita Dmitrievsky, set to music by contemporary composer Konstantin Borisov. The premiere performances are scheduled for March 13 (a preview for Pushkin Card holders), 14, and 15.

Opera stars Veronika Gioeva and Ivan Gyngazov to appear in Aida
Giuseppe Verdi’s Aida will be staged on 5 March at the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre within the 15th International Festival Stars Parade at the Opera. Slovtsov. The show will feature guest soloists: Honoured Artist of Russia Veronika Gioeva (Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre) in the title role and Ivan Gyngazov (Helikon-Opera) as Radamès.

On 15 February, visitors to the Planeta shopping and entertainment centre are invited to a new concert by soloists of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre as part of the Opera at the Planeta series.
