#Snow Queen - the performance of the Children’s Opera Studio of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre - based on Mark Minkov’s music is awarded a special prize and three special diplomas at the International Children and Youth Theatre Competition Siberian Trunk held in Novosibirsk in December.

Verdi's Requiem on the eve of the anniversary of lifting the siege of Leningrad
The Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will present an uncommon rendition of Requiem by Giuseppe Verdi on January 25, 2021. The performance is timed to coincide with a memorable date: the 77th anniversary of the lifting of the siege of Leningrad that is celebrated on January 27.

On December 21, the winners of the Theatre Spring festival were announced. The Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre received five Crystal Masks awards at once.

The advance premiere of the undeservedly forgotten opera Bogatyri (Heroes) by Alexander Borodin
The Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre invites Krasnoyarsk residents to the advance premiere of a rare opera-farce by Alexander Borodin Heroes. The performance will take place on Sunday, 13 December, at 6.30 p.m.

New opera soloists to debut in the Inspirational Poetic Lines concert
Guests of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will get acquainted with the new opera soloists Anna Avakyan and Edward Arutiunyan at the concert of romances (Russian art songs) Inspirational Poetic Lines. The singers joined the theatre’s opera company in October. Due to the tense epidemiological situation, they’ve not yet taken the stage of the Krasnoyarsk Opera House.

Three opera performances of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre have been long-listed for the National Theatre Award Golden Mask -2021; they are Marevo (Haze) by Kirill Shirokov and Mark Buloshnikov, Feast in Time of Plague by Alexander Manotskov and Night at the Museu by Pyotr Pospelov.

Alexandra Cherpakova won the Siberian round of the Romanciada competition
Principal singer of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre Alexandra Cherpakova took part in the Siberian round of the 24th International Competition of Young Performers of Russian Romance Romanciada-2020 that took place in Tomsk. She won first place.
