At the annual traditional meeting of the team of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, the premiere performances and major events of the upcoming 46th season were presented.
From October 13 to October 31, 2023, the Krasnoyarsk Art Festival Hvorostovsky will be held; it’ll be dedicated to the legendary opera singer Dmitri Aleksandrovich Hvorostovsky.
The Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre invites spectators to gala concerts that open the 46th season. Invited stars of the world music art will perform along with Krasnoyarsk soloists.
In the autumn of 2023, the Classical Ballet Theatre of Natalia Kasatkina and Vladimir Vasilyev will present three productions on the stage of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. Their casts include dancers whose artistic paths are closely connected with Krasnoyarsk.
In September, the artists of the opera and ballet companies will present to the audience several new debuts in the productions of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre.
In autumn, the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will hold five shows of the Cesare Pugni’s ballet Catarina ou la Fille du Bandit in September and November. The production is loved by the public and highly appreciated by experts: it is three times laureate of the prestigious theatre award Golden Mask.
Pyotr Pospelov, a composer, music critic, educator, cultural and public figure suddenly died. In 2023, he won the National Theatre Award Golden Mask in the category Best Composer for the orchestral reconstruction of the ballet Catarina ou la Fille du Bandit by Cesare Pugni he staged for the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. Pyotr Glebovich was only 60 years old.
Honoured Artist of Russia, premier danseur of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia Mikhail Lobukhin held a series of master classes and rehearsals for the ballet company of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre.
The programme of the international festival Stars of Baikal includes a performance by the choir of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. The team led by the Theatre's chief choirmaster Dmitri Khodosh will perform the Sergei Rachmaninov's one-act opera Aleko.
On September 22, the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will open the new season with an opera and ballet gala night. Tickets for the September, October, and November performances are already on sale.
